We learned back in June that Sig was going to be producing a US manufactured P225. We didn't know at the time exact specifics, ship dates, or exactly what features it would have. We know now!

Initially there are two variants with sights being the only difference.

The part numbers are 225A-9-B-CL (contrast sights) and 225A-9-BSS-CL (SIGLITE night sights).

The features include:

• Single stack 8rd magazine capacity (this does not use a regular P239 magazine as some have asked)
• Ships with two magazines
• Nitron coated stainless steel slide
• Black hard coat alloy frame
• Short reset trigger
• Black checkered G10 grips
• MSRP $1122.00 (contrast) / $1236.00 (night sights)

We have the P225A on order and expect deliveries soon. We are accepting pre-orders on our website now. We will also provide detailed photos and a video once we receive them.

Nighthawk Custom's 1911 VIP is one of the highest end pistols made by the custom 1911 manufacturer.

The pistol ships with a custom cocobolo hardwood presentation case.

The slide, frame, trigger, magazine well / mainspring housing, beaver tail, slide stop / release, and thumb safety are antique nickel finished.

The engraving is done by hand by a retired Colt master engraver. The grips are elephant ivory. The front sight bead is 14 karat gold plated and the magazines are polished with a jeweled appearance.

All major parts, including slide stop / release, thumb safety, beavertail, etc are machined from solid steel and are not MIM.

Kimber is releasing a new 9mm subcompact pistol in 2016 called the Micro 9.

The pistol will look like a larger version of the Micro .380 and is expected to start shipping in March of 2016. The Micro .380 is similar to the Sig P238 and the Colt Mustang. The Micro 9 looks like it will compete with Sig's P938 and other subcompact 9mm pistols.

The three variations initially available are below.

Micro 9 Two Tone (part number 3300099) - MSRP: $654.00

Micro 9 Crimson Carry (part number 3300101) - MSRP $894.00

Micro 9 Stainless Rosewood (part number 3300158) - MSRP $654.00

We will find out if ambidextrous models are coming as well. I'm sure that will be desired by some shooters.

We'll post more info tomorrow on other changes to Kimber's line. There are a bunch of 1911's being updated!

Any more news on the Micro 9 series will be updated here. We'll have orders entered soon but don't expect shipments before March.

I hinted in my previous post that Kimber is rolling out a new Micro 9 pistol and making some significant changes to their 1911 line.

These changes include updates to some existing lines as well as dropping some older models.

The standard black 1911 Custom II, Pro Carry II, and Ultra Carry II are all being dropped from the line. They are being replaced by the two tone variants that have been available this fall. They are also adding 9mm variants to this two tone group where the current offerings have been available only in .45 ACP.

The Stainless II with black rubber grips is being replaced by a new version with wood grips (shown above, new part number is 3200328). The Ultra TLE II and Custom TLE II (shown below, new part number is 3200335) are being updated to include G10 grips instead of the rubber grips. The TLE line is also getting a machined flat top slide, metal mainspring housing (with lanyard loop on the Custom and Pro models).

There are quite a few other changes to the 1911 line... The Gold Match II and Stainless Gold Match II are being upgraded. It looks like the black and silver Rimfire target pistols are being dropped. The Eclipse Target II is getting a .38 Super variant. The Stainless Ultra Raptor II, Stainless Pro Raptor II, and Stainless Raptor II are all getting a 9mm variant. The Grand Raptor is not. The Super Match II and Classic Carry Pro are also  changing for 2016.

Below is the 2016 handgun lineup with MSRP pricing. We don't have additional photos or details for the changes unless they were noted above. As soon as we receive more info we'll post an update.

The Micro line is also receiving changes and the all black model is being replaced by the two tone. The Micro Carry Stainless (with rubber grips) is being replaced by a stainless version with wood grips.

Kimber has drastically revamped their line for 2016. We reported on the new additions to the line and we have assembled a list of the models that were discontinued.

SHOT Show 2016 is already under way! Today I had the opportunity to see and shoot a few of Sig's new offerings!

We already know about a few new releases coming from Sig:

• P220 Legion .45 ACP (it was on display at Range Day but it had G10 pirahna grips instead of the proper Legion grips - those should be on it later in the week)
• Sig P210 Target and P210 Classic - Made in the US
• P320 Target with 5" barrel
• P227 Stainless Elite

I'm sure there will be a few more new releases as well. The P210's aren't in production yet but are about 90% ready for production. I believe the P220 Legion is going to be available pretty soon and have to try to obtain a release date for the P320 Target.

It is also interesting that the P210 doesn't carry the Legend name like the final production that shipped from Germany to the US over the last few years. As I was reviewing the video of the P210 from the range I caught something I missed earlier. The Academy team member overseeing the P210's mentions that they are making a 6" and 4" version of the P210.

I expect the P220 Legion to receive similar features as the P226 and P229 DA/SA Legion models and will have additional information this week.

The P320 RX was on display and available for demo as well. Below are photos from the Range Day event. We will have more news and coverage from Sig Sauer's booth tomorrow and throughout the week.

It sounds like Sig is working on X-Series production in New Hampshire as well but I'm not sure how far away from full production the line is. I understand that there will likely be three models when first released and the supporting accessories will be available at launch too (many who bought German X5 Enhanced models are still waiting for those accessories).

Some other big news today from Sig is that Kyle Lamb and Lena Miculek have join Team Sig, Sig's shooting team.

Sig is discontinuing both the 716 SBR (part number R716-12B-CQB-SBR) and the 716 pistol with brace (part number P716-12B-PSB).

I noticed that they were removed from the 2016 dealer price list and sent an email to an acquaintance at Sig. He confirmed both are being discontinued with no replacement currently available. I thought perhaps they were revising them to a Gen 2 (updated rail / gas block) or something along those lines but that is not the case. Both are being dropped from the line.

We've got from STI's booth at SHOT Show 2016. Below is a quick overview of the new models along with photos below that.

Sig just started shipping a new magazine for the P320 and P250. The extended length full size 9mm magazine gives you 21 rounds, adding four to the full size 9mm mag.

The part number is MAG-MOD-F-9-21. These will sell for around $58.00.

Sig has been quietly releasing some really nice new products to support their firearm platforms. We'll be posting some additional updates in the next week or so but this post will focus on Sig's new MCX bags.

There are two MCX bag variants with a total of three colors for each variant. The part numbers are as follows:

• BAG-MCX-BLK - Black MCX Rifle Bag
• BAG-MCX-DEPLOY-BLK - Black MCX Deployment Bag
• BAG-MCX-FDE - Flat Dark Earth MCX Rifle Bag
• BAG-MCX-DEPLOY-FDE - Flat Dark Earth MCX Deployment Bag
• BAG-MCX-GRY - Gray MCX Rifle Bag
• BAG-MCX-DEPLOY-GRY - Gray MCX Deployment Bag

The regular MCX rifle bag and the deployment bags are the same. The difference is that the deployment bags have extra Velcro backed pouches that hold magazines, cleaning supplies and barrels / Caliber X-Change Kits.

The standard bags are currently priced at $160 and the deployment bags are $219. You can view each bag on our web store using the links above and shipping is free.

I've noticed that Sig has put a lot of emphasis on the quality of these bags (along with some of their other new items). The canvas is very good quality and the bags are very firm, despite being a soft bag. The outer lining of the bag is roughly an inch thick and provides significant protection to the weapon you are carrying.

In our overview video, below, we give you a pretty good look at the bags including the measurements. The bag is right about 36" wide on the exterior and 34" on the interior.

Sig recently redesigned the slide catch lever and grip shell for the P320 and P250.

The new slide catch lever works with old grip shells but the old slide catch lever does not work on new grip shells.

Sig is shipping new P320's and P250's with the new style grip shell and slide catch lever. New Caliber X-Change kits are also shipping with the updated parts. We're seeing many new grip shells (but not all yet) coming in with the updated design. The updated grip shells do include the slide catch lever.

Sig is not updating part numbers on grip shells, Caliber X-Change Kits, or firearms to designate that they are shipping with the updated parts. As a result, it is extremely difficult to segregate inventory in our store and warehouse. If you really want one or the other I suggest calling and speaking with our sales staff. We cannot guarantee you'll receive one or the other but we will try our best to accommodate your needs. I expect that once the inventory on the old style parts sells out we won't see that style anymore.

Every once in a while we find a random new SKU offered by Sig Sauer. We just received a new 17rd magazine for a Sig Sauer SP2022 chambered in 9mm.

We haven't seen too many new products for this model in recent years and it is one of Sig's more overlooked pistols. Sig started manufacturing them in New Hampshire sometime around 2010 and the availability increased noticeably. Today the pistol is still in production but Sig doesn't market it much (very rarely from my observations).

The use of contrast sights makes a lot of sense and cuts the price somewhere between $50 and $100.

The P210 Target was on display and I shot a variant at SHOT Show back in 2016 but they seem to be pretty close to release! Additionally I'm told the P320 X-Carry (320XCA-9-BXR3) should be shipping within a few months!

We are waiting to get our hands on some photos of the Legion RX pistols and will post them when we can!

We got our hands on a very odd Sig P226 this week!

This P226 has a full length dust cover which makes it much different from most other Sig pistols. Additionally, it has a some pretty desirable features:

• Skeletonized trigger
• Stainless frame (total weight without magazine is 39.5oz)
• Flared decocker lever (looks like the one used on the P226 X5 All Around)
• Oversized slide release / slide stop lever (at a quick glance looks much like the ones used on the X-Series)
• Adjustable rear sight
• Fiber optic front sight
• Triple serial numbered (serial on slide, barrel, and frame)
• Heavy barrel (15mm)
• Ships with 3x 17rd MecGar magazines
